Easter egg hunting

Hyrum didn't need much encouragement to hunt for eggs. He is a natural when it comes to the "go get it" thing.



One of the best parts of the hunt was that every time Hyrum saw an egg, he would point and say "ooooooooh!" (With a rise in tone in the middle) He got so excited about finding each egg, it was so much fun.


Since then, he has continued to make an excited "ooooooooh" about lots of little things... finding Dad's phone or another toy, trying something yummy, and especially seeing Daddy. Hyrum loves playing with Dad and his name is the only clear word that Hyrum says so far. Sometimes I also think I hear "thank-you" and "got it."
Hyrum's personality is developing more and more and he is a fun and social little guy. Sometimes he will do a fake laugh (or cough) if he hears someone else doing it, which of course brings on the big laughs from us. Hyrum loves to help me, especially pulling laundry out of the washer/dryer, out of the laundry basket, and out of the drawers. He loves helping with the dishes the same way in the kitchen. :) He is literally running around and has been since before his first birthday. At his last check-up he was about the 70th percentile for both weight and height. My Doctor's words... "well, you've definitely been feeding him." A man at church on Sunday commented that Hyrum is about the same size as his almost 2 year old. Way to go, Hyrum! Maybe he'll be a tall boy.
We are loving having tax day past and enjoying lots of time with Ben at home. He is preparing for a half marathon in a few weeks and is working a lot on making our yard and home a beautiful place. He is also starting up again on studying for his last CPA exam! Hopefully this one will be relatively easy. I am enjoying every moment of being the mom and wife in our home, and most of the time that's all there is time for! Hyrum and I like to go for walks and weed in the garden as often as it's warm enough outside. Life is good!
